FILM 101 Film History

This course examines the technological, social, cultural, and aesthetic dimensions of cinema and the moving image from its inception through the 1940s. Lectures, screenings, readings and discussion will explore the formal diversity of international cinema and investigate the impact of the global circulation of films, filmmakers, and film culture.
