IDES 265 Interior Design History 2

This is the second of a two-course survey examining the history of interiors and architecture. Emphasis is placed on gaining an understanding of the plastic arts and their relevance to and impact on the larger world, culturally, politically, etc. The course identifies significant works of furniture, interior spaces and architecture, important architects and designers, formal and structural elements, periods, styles, theories, and regional differences from the industrial revolution until the 1960s. Lecture. Prerequisites: IDES 164, Interior Design History (recommended); and WRIT 113, First-Year Academic Writing.
