MDST 341 Film Genres

This course is a theoretical and historical survey of film genre as a stylistic and narrative device. It will focus on one or more genres as a case study for exploring genre's significance in the historical, cultural and economic fabric of the film industry. Lecture. Prerequisites: LSCI 105, Information Theory and Practice, or LSCI 106, Information Sources in Architecture and Interior Design, or LSCI 205, Information in the Disciplines; and WRIT 113, First-Year Academic Writing.
