POHI 325 Modern Revolutions
This course is an introduction to the study of the great social revolutions of the modern world and aims to enhance the student's ability to analyze contentious and violent political events. Students will define revolution and examine competing theories about its causes, outcomes, and processes. While examining critically the historical cases of France, Russia, and China, students will also consider how more contemporary cases challenge or support established theories. Comparative Politics field. Seminar.
