POHI 337 United States Constitutional Law

This seminar is designed to introduce students to the key principles of American law and politics. Students will study the historical development and contemporary function of constitutional law-defined as the interpretation and implementation of the US Constitution-through the problematics of liberal democratic theory and the role of the judiciary as an actor in political life. Major cases in constitutional law, on such topics as the extent of judicial power, states' rights, and equal protection, are examined. American Politics Seminar.
