POHI 332 Contemporary Political Theory

This seminar is a comparative examination of the theoretical bases of global political systems, including postcolonial ideologies originating in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, as well as postmodern theories originating in Europe and the United States after the Second World War. Topics include the relationship between the state and the economy, the role of non-governmental organizations in the extension of state power, and the use and abuse of mass mobilization, among others. Seminar.
